The Support Association of the Bundesstiftung Magnus Hirschfeld e.V. (FBMH) was founded on 4 September 2014.

Apart from the retired Federal Minister of Justice Sabine Leutheusser-Schnarrenberger (President of the Board of Management of the Association), the twelve founding members of the association include the retired member of the Deutsche Telekom Board of Management Thomas Sattelberger, taz Editor-in-Chief Ines Pohl, the Berlin Secretary of Justice Alexander Straßmeir, Superintendent Dr Bertold Höcker of the Evangelical Church District Central Berlin, the lawyers Seyran Ateş and Torsten F Barthel, the entrepreneurs Samuel van Oostrom and Matthias Woestmann and the Managing Director LAG Lesben in NRW, Gabriele Bischoff. The bankers Harald Christ and Jean-Pierre Sorichilli are involved in the Association in their personal capacity. Harald Christ has assumed the position of Vice President of the Association.
